Just like every other page on my web site, this one comes as a necessity. Sometimes, I really get going & add a bunch of stuff. If I do not record it's location I might forget about it. There are quite a few places that I need to update the links, but this will be the first. Other pages may not have the links for a few days or even weeks. This part was once on my home page. Now it has it's own page. There are a lot of old links, but It gives a little information on how long it takes to compose web pages when I work at it.

Just For Fun

The making of the web page Tarzan. The first part anyway. I may finish it later. I will if someone asks.

I have made thousands of web pages & for the most part no one cares how I do it. All my web pages are about the same. No creativity there. The best part is that I have lots of material to draw from. Anything that is on one page I can use on another. When I make a new page like Tarzan, I want to use as little effort as possible. The first thing that I do is to organize the comics in alfa-numeric order. In the case of Tarzan, not all the comics are titled Tarzan. Once they are in order, I number them, in this case #1-#34. Using my Adobe Photo Deluxe, I scan all the comics at 50% & 72 dots per inch (DPI), labeling each scan as 1, 2, 3....etc. This takes the longest time, but is mindless work, so it is easy to watch television. After the books are scanned, then convert the 50% scans to gif( compression without data loss) & a 70 pixel thumbnail into a bmp (universally used file format no compression), using Adobe Photo Deluxe, saving them all in the same folder (tarzan). Then using Cyber-View Image, I compress the thumbnails into jpgs to about 2k each. Then using my FTP program I delete all the bmps.

Here is a counter added on June 27, 2005. Had I had this counter when I started, it would have rolled over & I would have to go to a 7 digit counter.
