Bug stories are reprinted from Walt
Disney's Comics & Stories from the 1940's
& 1950's. Li'l Bad Wolf
has some originals, but most are reprinted from the 1950's
& 1960's.

I think Walt Disney's Comics & Stories is one of the most
underrated comic. I say this for two reasons. First back issues a
cheap compared to other titles. Second, they bring together some
of the most talented comic artists through reprints & new
original matrial. There is a little bit of everthing for just
about everyone in the family.

When Gladstone lost the contract for printing Disney comics, I
lost interest in comic collecting. Comic collecting for me has
always been hobby that has been periodic. I think the biggest
reason for my loss of interest, was the dramatic increase in
cover price. I use to have a rule that I would never spend more
than one dollar on any book no matter what. When the cover price
of comics reached $1.50, it became impossible to get anything
good, as far as back issues, for a dollar or less. What does this
have to do with the price of tea in China? Not much. Just
reflections of comic collecting past. To avoid cataloging nearly
100 Walt Disney's Comics & Stories. As Moe, Larry & Curly
would say, "For Posterity!".

Issues #601-633 are square bound & have a cover price of
$5.95 & $6.95. I think that at this point, Gladstone knew
that the end was near & in order to not have to refund
subscribers subscriptions raised prices on the most popular
titles. This had the effect of killing all Disney titles. Of
course, Gladstone stopped publishing & Disney could see no
profit in the Disney publications in the United States. This is
Kit's opinion.

There is a story about a raffle, where Donald puts pin holes
in his raffle ticket to increase the friction & to raise the
chances that Donald's ticket would be drawn. About a year ago, I
was at a Casino in New Mexico on Friday the 13th. I was playing
cards with the locals & was informed that if I joined a club
for free, I could get $30 worth of chips for $20 & some good
coupons. I would also be able to enter a raffle that was held
every hour & you had to be present to win. Guess what I did
to my raffle ticket? I poked eight holes in it with a toothpick.
I did not win the first or second hour, but on the third hour as
I was leaving they called my name. I won $800. I credit Donald
Duck & Carl Barks for my good fortune.
