Uncle Scrooge
Uncle Scrooge (Dell & Gold Key) the originals
These are the originals. The comics that, in total have been reprinted hundreds of times since they were first published. Before there was Indiana Jones...... there was Scrooge, Donald & Boys. You may notice that the earliest Scrooge's have the highest number. That is because they are from Western's premiere comic Four Color. Dell Four Color comics were Western publishing's showcase series. Titles that were popular were made it into their own titles. Uncle Scrooge was one of the popular ones. Only the first three issues were Four Colors
I finally got the first four Uncle
Scrooge's. I was thinking of putting for display
only, until I get a complete collection. I decided against it. I
did not want to annoy any big Scrooge fan's. I
have always been a big Scrooge fan. I started
out with only three original Scrooges. They were
Uncle Scrooge #44, 66, & 46. When I
was in the Navy I cleaned out every Scrooge in a
fifty mile radius, in every place I was stationed.
(1952-1968)
Uncle Scrooge first appeared (Scrooge's earliest appearances were actually in Donald Duck) in Four Color #189 "Christmas on Bear Mountain" by Carl Barks December 1947.

This page looks better using Internet Explorer 5. Netscape is alright, you just can not see the double backgrounds.
Note: Every comic has a scanned image. They are scanned at 50% & converted to gifs each image averages 75K in size. Gifs are good because they load in three stages. You can tell if you want that image by the time it has only partially loaded. If not you can use the back button on your browser. Wally: You know, you're making out like you're the only guy in the whole country that ever caught a touchdown pass before. There's thousands of them. The world's filled with guys who are doing a lot bigger things than catching footballs.
Beaver: Yeah, well, I guess I'm not as big a hero as some of those astronaut guys.
