Max C. Gaines thought that if the giveaway comics were so successful, that he could sell them for a dime. Eastern Color published 35,000 copies of Famous Funnies #1 for Dell in July of 1934. They sold out.

Ward: What type of girl would you have Wally marry?

June: Oh, some very sensible girl from a nice family -- one with both feet on the ground, who's a good cook and can keep a nice house and see that he's happy.
