Mickey Mouse

The Four Color & Dells

Dell Four Color comics were Western publishing's showcase series. Titles that were popular were made it into thier own titles. Mickey Mouse was one of the popular ones. The popular titles then would start with #28, like with Mickey Mouse. Therefore, the earliest Mickey's are the Dell Four Colors. If you count back 28 issues #1 is Four Color #313. I have both #1 & #2, Four Color #313 & #325. I also have some that are earlier because Western could never really count very well.

Comic Availability

If the comic's condition is listed as SOLD or RESERVED it is no longer available. If the condition is listed as NM, VF, FN, VG, GD, or FR it should be available. NOTE:When a comic is sold it is not removed from the web, it's condition is just marked as Sold.

If you would like more information,

Send me an e-mail & I will respond within 24 hours if not sooner.

I notice that I am making more editorial comments. If they bother you ignore them. People ask me how is it that one person could collect & put up so many comics on the web? Nobody asks me that but if they did. I would say what Popeye would say, "I scan & I scan till I can't scan no more!"

Eddie: Hey, I hear they got you in solitary confinement. What'd you do, spill jam on your bib again?

Beaver: No, I stayed out late, so I'm not allowed out on school nights.

Eddie: Hey, that's rough. If that ever happened to me, eight or nine girls would kill themselves..

Eddie

A moment in comic history, dateline 1947.

In December of 1947 Carl Barks introduces Uncle Scrooge in Christmas on Bear Mountain in Four Color #178.

Barney and Gomer

Gomer: It's damp under there. Could be spiders.

Barney: Now what makes you think there's spiders under there?

Gomer: Cause... If I were a spider that's where I'd go.

Barney: Gomer there are no spiders under there. now get movin'.

Gomer: I don't know. Sure looks pretty spidery to me.

Barney: ...Gomer, get down there with them spiders and start workin'.
