Batman #492 (Platinum Edition) May 1993
Written by Doug Moench Artist Norm Breyfogle
This is the first part of the Knightfall series. This is during the comic book boon of the 1990's & at one time this comic was priced at $200. It is now valued at a more reasonable $10, which is still above the regular edition at $4. I am not so sure how high the regular edition got up to, but I heard that some dealers were getting $50 at one time. This is one reason comic books went bust as well. Guys like me could not get their regular comic books, because a lot of dealers were putting back key issues in anticipation of a quick profit on these issues when the price would rise, because people that never read a comic would buy five & ten copies, in hopes of cashing in on the rising comic prices. Cover I got this platinum edition Batman comic book free at a convention in Dallas. The platinum edition does not have a price because it was given out free at conventions & to dealers. |
