Journey into Mystery
starts with Journey into Mystery #1 in June
1952 ends with Journey into Mystery #125
in Feb. 1966. Journey into Mystery
becomes Thor with issue #126.
Marvel began publishing Journey into
Mystery with Journey into Mystery #49
in November of 1958. The most valuable issue is Journey
into Mystery #83 (origin of Thor)
A near mint copy sells for $4500 and a good copy goes for $300
(in the year 2000).

Artie Simek & Sam Rosen did the lettering
for most Thor comics. The others listed
are Writers/ Artist/ Inkers. However, I think in
many cases any of the staff could lend a hand depending on the
situation. Stan Lee is listed in all the comics
for his name.After all, he created most of the charcters. I think
he would come up with story ideas & lend a hand where needed,
I think Stan Lee mainly acted as a supervising editor. There is
little doubt that Thor is Jack
Kirby's baby. This is only my ideas & should be
taken for what they are worth, except the first two sentences.

| A moment in comic
history, dateline 1933. The Ledger
Syndicate published a small broadside of
their Sunday comics on 7" by 9" plates.
Employees of Eastern Color Printing Company
in New York, sales manager Harry I. Wildenberg &
salesman Max C. Gaines, thought if they
put two plates together they would fit on a tabloid page
& when folded would produce a book 7 1/2" x
10". Funnies on Parade was
the result of the first printing. Procter &
Gamble bought 10,000 copies of Funnies
on Parade, consisting of reprints from the
Sunday pages, to be given away as premiums.
Wally: Eddie, we can't go without my
brother.
Eddie: Who needs him? He already paid
his dough for the ticket... Oh, good morning, Mrs.
Cleaver. Poor little fellow-- I wouldn't want him to miss
this outing for anything.
June: Really, Eddie?
Eddie: Oh, yes -- I've always felt
that older boys should devote more time to the little
ones.
