Walt Disney Comics Digest

I would have to say these Comic Digests are a little overpriced ( These are priced above Overstreet, but priced according to what they are worth to me.). I just wanted to record all the different stories in each of the digests I have. If I priced them lower I would not bother to put them up. Even overpriced, they have a lot of comic reading enjoyment.

Note: Disney's information on these digests is very incomplete. I know most of the Barks' stories & will indicate all that I know about these stories, but some information may be incorrect & incomplete. I would like anyone that knows more to send me an E-mail & I can then correct any mistakes or incomplete information. This work is very boring (This is my punishment for blowing off so many boring English assignments, but rationalize my exposure by blaming my teachers for not motivating me sufficiently.), but rewarding as well, in that my own web site, has become an invaluable tool in researching these digests.

On the later Digests, as well comic books printed by Whitman from about 1974-80, had codes inserted in the first few panels of the story indicating when the story was first printed. In some cases the code pointed to the second printing of the story. From 1974 to 1980 Whitman published very little new material & I think they needed a code so they did not reprint the same material too often. These codes are really small & I have to use a magnifying glass to identify them, but very useful. They are written in block letters & start with "WR", meaning Whitman reprint, followed by the first letters of the stories they came from, for example; DD #55, for Donald Duck #55, MM #45 for Mickey Mouse #45, FC #185 for Four Color #185 or OS for One Shot, which means the same thing, etc.
