Marvel's Space-Born Super-Hero
Captain Marvel 1st
appeared in Fawcett Publications in 1941 in Captain
Marvel Adventures in March &
in Captain Marvel Jr. in November.
Fawcett had to discontinue publication in 1953
because DC claimed Captain Marvel
was a rip-off of Superman, but the truth was
that Captain Marvel was out selling Superman
& DC knew Fawcett
could not afford to defend the legal action. Captain
Marvel was then published by Marvel in May
of 1968. The comics listed below are the 3rd time Captain
Marvel was attempted. The silver age version is nothing
like the golden age Captain. He was billed as "Marvel's
Space-Born Super-Hero".
