Action Comics

Action comics begins with Action #1 in June of 1938. Only one copy known to exist in mint condition. $180,000 a copy if you could find one. The comic was an instant success, although inferior in continuity. Superman had blue boots in some frames and red in others. Four pages that were dropped from Action #1 were added to Superman #1. DC reprinted Action #1 in Famous First Edition in 1974, that has been passed as Action #1 with its cover removed. But the reprint is enormous 10" x13 1/2" . Without its cover it is worthless.

This is the first title I did. It had the most mistakes. To do all of Action it took me three months. To redo it, took three days. This was back when no one visited my web site. I remember in the beginning, that I put high prices on the first comics, until I could get the new Overstreet Comic Buyers Guide. I did not want to under charge for my most valuable books. I forgot to go back & lower prices until 2003. I think you will find these prices more reasonable. I think Adventure, Batman, & Detective have the same problem. I will fix them soon.
