Back Cover

Siegel and Shuster were paid only ten dollars a page for the Superman story that was published in Action Comics No. 1- and they were required by the publisher to sign away all rights to the character. Although they continued to work on the Superman comic books and strips, it was as employees only.

Inside cover.
The artists and writers who worked on comic books were often not allowed to sign their work, and many saw comic books only as a rung on the ladder leading up to a contract for a syndicated newspaper strip, or to writing for radio or slick magazines, or to a career in commercial art.
Siegel never really made any money from Superman and is no longer associated with Superman in any way. He has been back to DC to deliver a parcel.
